Our association with Mr. Hastings began in 2008 while my husband and I were searching for our first home. We had compiled seven years of research in house hunting and with the advice of our financial advisor; we embarked the journey to purchase our home. Before you read my review below you should know one thing:

Sammy Hastings is the real estate agent everyone hopes they have when the embark on the nerve racking process of buying a house.  Honestly there is no way you could find a better agent, equal maybe, but certainly not better.

Sammy helped my wife Tiffanie and I buy our first home in early 2008.  From our first conversation with Sammy, we recognized a friend and adviser who was willing to freely share information with us and field our many questions.  Even though it was nearly two years later before we were able to write an offer, he was always the same helpful and honest agent the whole time, never pushing us to write an offer, just patiently helping us get to the point were we could.

Once we found a place we loved after a few days of showings, Sammy helped us craft the best offer possible.  There are so many little things that can make an offer more attractive to a seller besides the purchase price.  He explained in detail all the ways we could improve our offer to increase the chances of it being accepted.  Sure enough our offer was eventually accepted even though there was another offer for slightly more money.  You read that right, the seller accepted our offer over another despite ours being for $10K less.   This is the kind of thing a great agent does, it's not completely about offering the most money, it's about satisfying the sellers many concerns from the beginning with a strongly structured offer.  Without Sammy we would never have understood this and could still be writing offers and losing again and again.

During the escrow period we were updated frequently regarding the status of our purchase and any steps we could take to move the process along.  Sammy was always responsive and easy to reach to discuss any concerns we had as well.  For example, Sammy helped us motivate a slow moving escrow company and ensure that our deal closed on schedule - even after our loan documents were lost by the shipper!  During this time my wife and I were very nervous the deal would fall through, things felt out of our control and the process couldn't proceed fast enough.  

It's hard to explain the low-level panic that can set in when you're in the middle of  a house purchase, any little thing out of the ordinary can be very stressful.  Sammy is so energetic, so positive, and so supportive that he has the amazing ability to provide hope and calmness in even the most difficult times during a home purchase.  Each time we called, he took as much time as needed to calm us down and help us regain confidence.  I have no way of putting a value on the amount of stress Sammy alleviated during this process.  From all the nightmare scenarios are friends and family told us we were very concerned about working with and agent, luckily we found Sammy and had by far the best home buying experience of anyone we know.  

If that isn't enough, Sammy has also been able to refer excellent service providers - including the inspector and a plumber.  Sammy is a full service agent that is always willing to help in any way with this process.  Now that we're settled in to our new home, Sammy remains a valued friend today.  If you're looking to buy a house, look no further than Sammy Hastings as your agent.  He is clearly the best of the best.
